Brand name for acrylic include plexiglas®, lucite®, and brand names for polycarbonate include lexan®, makrolon®, tuffak®. Polycarbonate is more expensive than acrylic and used in selective applications. Items made from either involve hand work. With injection molding all processes are automated and made using thermoplastic beads, There are over 18,000 different materials available that can be used as a thermoplastic in injection molded items. Acrylic and polycarbonate items are cut by hand or machine then heated and bent to the desired shapes and sizes. The final steps include gluing where necessary and flame polishing. Our product line consists of acrylic and injection molded items. If you need a different size than a stock size we may be able to custom fabricate in acrylic to meet your needs. To get a quote simply hand draw your item showing all dimensions and thickness of acrylic (1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8) you want to use in your project. Items such as display cases and display stands we can make as few as 1 only or as many as you need. Depending on complexity there may be minimums on some projects. Example, if you need acrylic blocks cut to a specific size there would be a minimum of 75 pieces. However, most price quotes are based on the number of pieces, time and material, and finally, overhead. With injection molded items we may be able to use your mold (if you have one) or make the mold for you. Molds can be as little as $2500.
